Turn off Strict Rendering Mode (unless you need it to get rid of the diagonal line), try SPU Preferred Threads 4
That's as good as it gets for now, future builds should improve it
Hello there,

i installed RPCS3 today and read the "Quickstart", Demon souls was the first game i wanted to try but for whatever reason i can't get it to work. It seems like my keyboard and controller input doesn't get registered and i can't get pass the first screen.

I don't have any other games to test right now, so i don't know if this is a Demon Souls problem or in General. Any help is appreciated!

Don't copy your log from the RPCS3 window, attach the full RPCS3.log.gz file from the RPCS3 folder after you have ran the game and closed RPCS3.
The window does not have everything in the log.

Hey guys,

I'm new to PS3 emulation. No stranger to other kinds of emulation and other time consuming things like this. Decided I wanted to try Demon's Souls since it seems to have come a long way.

Specs are:

GTX 1060 6GB

i7-8700k 3.70ghz

16gb of DDR4

Version used:
0.0.5-7728
After some initial start up pop in with the shader cache, the game ran really well. Very rarely have I had any sound hiccups, and the fps has be pretty much completely consistent 30. The problem I've run into though, is the there's this weird black flicker that happens seemingly random when panning the camera or while moving. I've had some zones not do it almost at all, where others do it quite frequently. I decided to try a couple older builds.

I've tried builds:
0.0.5-7678 (same black flicker as the 7728 build, same solid performance)
0.0.5-7536 (this build had a white flicker, but it wasn't like the entire screen disappearing like with black, and it happened much less frequently. There was also pretty consistent audio stutter for music and voices, actual framerate was really good though, probably could have settled for that visual hiccup if the sound was on par.)

On the GPU tab, in all versions I used: Vulkan, frame limit off, anistropic 16x, resolution scale 150%, and write color buffers.

On the CPU tab I used: LLVM, ASMJIT (tried the LLVM on the newest build I tried as well), enable thread scheduler, enable SPU loop detection, SPU Cache, 4 SPU threads (tried 2 and 3 as well), left mostly defaults.

I basically fooled around with whatever settings I could, even native resolution, and was never able to get rid of the black flicker. I guess I'm wondering is this just an issue with these builds? Is there a more specific build I should seek out, or is this just a PC to PC basis for if a build will work well? I saw some videos of this guy using v.0.0.5-6675 from back in April, he doesn't seem to have any of the flickering. I checked the archive of versions but I the link for that build and the one after it, which I've read is good as well were both dead.

Thanks.

Hey, you might want to check this:
https://github.com/RPCS3/rpcs3/issues/4857

There is a specific branch that's being worked on for Demon Souls that will alleviate some of the black flickering:
https://github.com/kd-11/rpcs3/tree/des_fbo_fixes

You can build it from source yourself or grab it here if you're on Windows:
https://ci.appveyor.com/project/kd-11/rp.../artifacts

However, I'm still noticing semi-frequent flickering with this branch even after reloading a bunch of times. It just keeps coming back. Let me know if you find an older build that works, I'd be interested in trying it out myself.
I trying 7736 build, and have problem - random emulator crashes with error
F {PPU[0x1000019] Thread (SLSession) [0x00c1f920]} class std::runtime_error thrown: Failed to move directory D:/rpcs3/dev_hdd0/home/00000001/savedata/.working_BLES00932DEMONSS005/
Tryied run as admin and with windows 7 compability, lol, but it does not affect.
Tryied replace binary 'rpsc3.exe' with some previous builds but it does not help too.
What i need to do?

There's no need to use that old build, kd-11's fbo fixes PR has already been merged on master, just go and download the latest version of rpcs3
I'm using: rpcs3-v0.0.6-7788-4c593959_win64 and have some issues with this game.

With the Vulkan driver, I get some black screen flickering. OpenGL works fine on 100% scale but looks bad. 150% and 200% scale return the error below. I otherwise use the default settings except the things mentioned here: https://wiki.rpcs3.net/index.php?title=Demon%27s_Souls and Vsync. Specs: RTX 2070 and i9-9900K. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Especially getting it to work with Vulkan as that looks a looot better.

Hello!
My specs: AMD Athlon II X2 250 @ 3.00 GHz, AMD Radeon R7 200, 8GB RAM. Using version 0.0.6-7809.
I know my computer looks more like a microwave, but I still think that problem may be caused by something other.
When I launch the game, I dont even see the loading screen with DeS logotype, just black screen after "Compiling shaders". But I see some errors and a lot of this spam in log:

Hey, what's the easiest way to get the mouse working to move the camera? I've tried whatever this dude: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpeOLCobhnA did but with highly mixed results.
