the last version, which run the game was 0.5.5-6718, all later versions don't run the game. game freeze at loading savegame or at begin a new game. only with spu decoder set to interpreter will help but the game is then very slow...

It's a known issue, just wait for it to be fixed no reason to bump this thread. You can read about the issue here, but don't comment unless you have something useful to say, GitHub isn't the place for discussion/spam.

I've been playing for 4 hours with version 0.0.5-7163 from the start (until Golden Grove, I'm a bit slow). Haven't skipped a cutscene, been saving and loading, and no crashes yet. Slows down a bit at times but I think it's because of my system. All settings at default.
as of build 7247 implemented by nekotekina, audio now has issues. (static/noisy sound)

didn't see anyone comment about this in the build thread. since I don't have a github account, please someone let Nekotekina know about this issue, so maybe he can fix it, or someone else.

Audio is still perfect here.

build 7253 didn't fixed;


rolling back to 7234 fixed.

please note that build 7253 has slightly better than 7247. but audio is not fixed.


please, re-test this with earphones/headset. you will notice static/noise since audio starts to render (in LEVEL 5 screen).

when cutscene starts, problem seems almost fixed.

so it's more in menus/ logo screens and in-game.

i'm trying to alert, as a new build was released and that too didn't fix the audio.


is like a game have micro-sutter in audio at some parts.


reverting back to 7234 fix all problems, so I'm 300% sure the problem, whatever it maybe, started in 7247 (C++17 implementations) and persists in build 7253 (c++18 implementations)


PS: anyway you chose to see this problem, the fact remains: something changed from build 7234 to 7247. game remains playable (or almost) as far as I can Tell. and you can hear the sound. the problem is the performance of said audio.


I really hope this may help Nekotekina fix this.
devs don't really check the forums and with no log file it's not very helpful in debugging anyway.

PS: I don't test everything. but for every new build, i play at least 1 hour of ni no kuni. but since this is not appreciated here, sorry for the flame.
