I'm playing on NPEA00445, and after spending hours looking for how to get into the game at all and move past the intro, I found that doing what kljarvis7 said and using v1.04 instead of 1.12, or any other version, works best. I don't know what the best settings are but being able to skip the intro is huge.
I just finished working this out at 1 in the morning, so I don't know if it goes further than the title screen but so far so good.
I would assume this works for every Serial.
Hopefully the game will be deemed "Playable" soon.
