You can play current master with write color buffers and cpu blit in debug section might affect performance though. I'd just stick to the old build.

build 0.0.9-9929 Vulkan
random hard lock: sound and music cut out, and within 10 seconds both the game and emulator freeze
doesn't seem to be related to anything, sometimes it happens 1 minute in, sometimes 10+ minutes later. always starts with the music and sound cutting out, giving you a forewarning but it's rarely possible to save the gamestate in Tokyo Jungle due to the game mechanic.

I know this thread is super dead by now but does anyone have a fix for this?
im running the most recent version of RPCS3 with the most recent firmware but I still cant seem to get the game to work. it boots up, and crashes before it gets to a menu or an in-game screen. doesnt give me any error messages or boxes.

would appreciate any kind of help with this, this is one of my all-time favorite games and I've been trying for hours to get this to work.
I even tried older builds of RPCS3 with older firmwares and nothing seems to work haha.

Tried different decoders and disabling LLVM DFMA in custom configs unfortunately had no luck on latest build either. Just grey box no booting and error "F VM: Access violation reading location 0xed154224 (unmapped memory) [type=u32]"

2021 update: Currently playable on the latest builds of master, with a few config tweaks.

1. On Vulkan, the graphics are very bright and washed out. Switching to OpenGL fixes this, but Vulkan seems to have better performance.
2. On OpenGL, there is some minor graphical corruption without "Strict Rendering Mode" enabled.

Other than these, there are a few emulation bugs.

1. The text labels of regions on the game's map render incorrectly. They either don't show up at all or seem to render at the wrong height and are often cut off.
2. At a seemingly random time, the game's audio will cut out, and soon after the game will crash. Sometimes it's almost immediately, sometimes it's over an hour. It seems to only happen during gameplay, not on the menus. Due to the nature of the game, game progress is almost always lost when the crash occurs, so it's "Playable" but not easy to actually play the game for any stretch of time.

Does anyone else have an issue with extreme brightness? It didn't matter whether White Color Buffer was enabled/disabled. Still extremely bright. Game runs perfect other than the brightness. I've attached a screenshot of what it looks like.

Also have a problem of game freezing within first 10 minutes at random point, can't even complete tutorial.

Is "Try not using spu llvm" really the only solution? Can't really work for me, as when i change spu to interpreter (fast or slow), framerate becomes just unplayable. While llvm and asmjit bring back freezes.

You can remove this post.

So, i have the same issue as Jonlan that at some point (usually within first 15 minutes of play) sound disappears and then game freezes. That's what happening when NOT using spu llvm (i found a way to use "interpreter fast" instead and have decent framerate, but in the end it didn't help). And if i do use "spu llvm", game randomly crashes without even "mute sound" forewarning.
