I don't know where else to ask. Last night everything was normal. 60 fps everywhere no matter what. Today I start the game and I can barely get to 30 fps. The game stutters badly. I can't even get to 60 fps in the Nexus, only when I'm looking at the sky. If I deactivate the 60 fps patch the problem is somewhat diminished, 28-30 fps with way less stuttering. I tried other games, such as the Ninja Gaidens, and they run fine. It's only Demon's Souls that's giving me problems. I tried everything. I checked if there were any updates in windows update, restarted the pc many times, even checked if there were any deactivated cores in the bios. Everything was fine.
There hasn't been a new rpcs3 version, nor new drivers, it just stopped working from night to day without any apparent reason.

RPCS3 v0.0.13-11336-13a0b887 Alpha | HEAD | Firmware version: 4.86
Intel® Core™ i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz | 16 Threads | 31.92 GiB RAM | TSC: 3.600GHz | AVX+ | FMA3
Operating system: Windows, Major: 10, Minor: 0, Build: 19041, Service Pack: none, Compatibility mode: 0
RSX: Found vulkan-compatible GPU: 'GeForce GTX 970' running on driver 457.30.0.0
S UPDATER: RPCS3 is up to date!

Edit: I tried lowering the resolution from 1440p to 720p, no change.
I noticed that GPU utilization as soon as i'm in game skyrockets to 100%, while the CPU is only around 20-30%. This doesn't happen with any other game, not even with GOW 3. I don't know what the GPU utilization was when it was working perfectly, though.

Edit2: I also got this crash. The audio was stuttering more and more even in the zones where I get to 55-60 fps (usually before it would take like 5-8 hours of continuous playing before the audio began stuttering and a crash would happen):

F {RSX [0x038c7fc]} SIG: Thread terminated due to fatal error: Verification failed:
(in file D:\a\1\s\rpcs3\Emu\RSX\VK\VKDraw.cpp:387)

EDIT3: I FIXED IT. It was fairly easy once I knew what was going on. The GPU had nothing to do with that, or it would've affected the entire system, not just one emulated game. Here's what I did: I asked a tech friend of mine, and he asked me if there had been any storms in my area during the last days, during which I had the PC on. He then told me that maybe some file that was passing through the RAM might have ben corrupted during one of those storms, and told me to simply run sfc /scannow from the cmd. There were a lot of drivers that had been damaged that the command substituted... After that I deactivated the XMPII profile (which I used to brute-force through the damaged files in the RAM) and tried Demon's Souls again... It runs at 60 fps. The Issue is no more.

Still get the crash, though.

I'd like to ask if anybody like me still got troubles with this game, I actually tried it the first time around the time it was available, 2017 or so, but during these past few years I never managed to make it work properly, neither this EU version nor the US version, and I remember trying a lot of versions of the RPCS3, and a lot of different settings... But it never worked well, I always had abysmally low FPS, and if ever rolled into breakable objects (like the ones near the second enemy of the Tutorial) the game would totally freeze for a long time, even alt+f4 wouldn't work, and often I was forced to use ctrl+alt+del to force close it. Even reloading the game/closing and re-booting the game never works, and sometimes it gets even worse when "compiling shaders" comes out, it's not as bad as with the breakable stuff, but almost as bad. Just for information, I dunno if it could help, I want to say that I even tried using the same settings of the PS2 emulator, which never gave me any troubles, but even with those settings, it never worked. Now I'm starting to think I just don't have a decent PC, so I'll post here my specs:

System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP 1
Processor: Intel Core i5-6600 CPU @ 3.30 GHz
RAM: 16 GB
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3 GB

If anybody had my same problems, and somehow resolved it, or if somehow my PC isn't good enough, please lemme know. Thanks for the attention.

I had the same issue with my i5 4690k and the solution was upgrade! with my ryzen 5 5600x no more freeze with breakable objects in deamon souls!

My ryzen 5 5600x performs very well with 60 fps all time.... but with the latest builds i had notice a little stutter when i pick objects!!! anybody has the the same issue? maybe a fix?

solution: install game in ssd solves this stutter!!!!!

I'm having the same issue too:

i7-8700k.

Sound and frame drops when existing item and equipment menu, when you pick up an item, and when you revive or beat a boss. I've seen videos of people with lesser cpus having no issues. Is this just because of the current version? I've had it update several times over the last week and nothing fixed it. Preferred SPU threads set to auto. Basically everything that's auto is left at auto.

This is a known issue and seems to occur from build 11791 onwards. Use a build from before this to get around this issue. You can track the issue and find out if it gets fixed from this github issue.

Started a play through of the game.

Noticed black textures in some spots if vsync was switched on, and the odd flickering texture here and there and that's about it really. Game runs quite well.

Been playing it in 60 fps. Very nice.

Recently, I have been getting random freeze-ups on loading screens that didn't used to happen for me. I have to close the emulatro and restart when it happens. I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a change in settings I might try to fix this? Or is it possibly a new problem that has been introduced in a recent version? Thanks for the help.

I tried to run the game with both default settings and the recommended ones from the wiki but I am met with a black screen. Also tried to switch from Vulkan to OpenGL and disabled 60FPS patch.
Here are my specs:
CPU:  Intel Core i7-6700 @ 3.40GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950
RAM: 16.0 GB
Windows 10 64-bit

Edit: antivirus was messing with the emu

On the linux client, the sun rays in this game have gotten out of control. They are blinding. Does anyone know of a setting to fix this?
