I've been trying to play KH 1.5 for the last few days but can't get to the menu. I've looked all over the internet but most of the advice is from 2018. Nothing I do changes anything. I've renamed and even deleted the OPM file and fiddled with the configuration nigh endlessly. Nothing works! I have the 11th version of the emulator and I can play basically everything but final mix (KH1). It just freezes whenever I start it up. I don't even get to the menu.
Missing log file, what you uploaded on attachment wasn't a log file
This?

Can you post your PC specs? mainly you're graphics card within the log you had an error:
RSX: Your GPU does not support depth bounds testing. Graphics may not work correctly

So you must have had Multi-threaded RSX optioned enabled, but has me wondering about your gpu  now.
I don't have this particular game ripped atm, but will rip it a little later and play with it as well

oK got the game ripped, I didn't realize just how huge it was. Loaded it up and started it with just my standard configurations that are preset, just to see if it will run. Got in, selected KH Final Mix started it and watched most of the starting movie before it froze, that without playing with any settings at all.  I am using a AMD Ryzen 2600x 3,6GHZ CPU and a MSI GeForce 1660 Super Ventus XS OC edition 6GB DDR4 Ram and 16GB of DDR4 Ram, nothing is overclocked.

But lets get your specs and go from there. One thing we can do. You probably need to update your RPCS if you haven't already, according to the log is was a bit behind, an update come out yesterday (or day before) and one came out today as well. always helps to stay current
I'm not tech savvy but I'll try.

Intel® Core™ i5-1035G1 CPU 1.00GHz 1.9GHz and 8.00 GB RAM

Would I be correct in assuming you're using a laptop? I'm not the most Tech Savvy person either, especially when it comes to Intel, I can spot AMD products pretty well, not much experience with the rest.

If this is a laptop, does it have an onboard video card, or just the intergraded chip? if you aren't sure just throw the model of the laptop I can find out for you .
puts
Let me know if updating helped at all, a new update came out today as well, puts us on 10749 atm, yours at the time of the log was 10742.
It is a laptop. The laptop is a 15-dy1751ms, I updated RPCS3 today so its now 10750. I once again tried but it still froze before it got to the menu.

Form what I can tell, I think I can play all the other games just fine, even 2.5. Its only the first KH that freezes like this.
ok. Yea looking at your Laptop, its aa Integrated graphics chip, but supports openGL 4.5. So it does meet Minimum Requirements.
I know KH 1.5 has been a troublesome thing to a lot of people, I am not sure 1.5 is and 2.5 has played like a breeze for most, but lets see what we can do to try to get it working for you.

In you GPU config. What go you have listed under your Renderer, Vulcan or Open GL?
Also In Additional options and shader mode, what do you have enabled in both?

Now to CPU
PPU decoder > Recompiler LLVM
SPU Decoder > Recompiler ASJIT
In Additional Settings: Check only: Lower SPU Thread Priority, Enable SPU Loop Detection, & SPU Cache
SPU Black Size should be: Safe
Preferred SPU Threads: Auto

I will wait on you about the GPU settings
For the renderer, its both. Its currently on Vulkan.
Shader mode: Async (multthreader)
Additional: nothing
lets Take Renderer to openGL,
and in additional check off Vsync,
Try that out see what that gets you. if nothing new. get a copy of the LOG, then change the Renderer to Vulcan run again. if still having problems get a copy of the log with Vulcan and post them here (label the which is which if you can)
