hi! I'm new here so be easy on me Smile

first of all, thank you for all the performance improvements!  it is amazing what works on dated hardware like an early 2015 Retina MacBook Pro!

I upgraded Batocera from v35 (RPCS 0.0.23) to v36 (RPCS 0.0.25) and noticed the following graphical glitch:

I made certain to reproduce the issue in the latest 0.0.27 build in Ubuntu 20.04 ensuring all directories (esp the cache) were built from scratch.

As an aside, the color palette is off on titles like AquaPazza.

These graphical glitches do not exist in v0.0.23.

I've attached the RPCS3 log file capturing a fresh install compiling system & title PPU modules and execution up to the first graphical glitch.

I see all my hardware info in the log. please let me know if any other info is needed!

ah this is related to when I find the log.gz with no permissions - now I know the file is incomplete.

I assume the .log beside it has the same contents and attached a gzipped version of it.

I've attached the v0.0.25 log file as well in case it helps for comparison - it has the same exact behavior.

Thanks for looking into this!

Intel iGPUs are not fully supported due to driver issues, specially old ones.

ah - just trying to make an old dog do new tricks and do my part in reducing e-waste Smile

was there anything in particular you saw in the logs you feel may be a difficult to work around driver issue?

To be frank, you're lucky that the emulator is even opening on this PC. The windows drivers would render it unusable, and there's only just about enough support in Mesa for RPCS3 to work with this. You can try disabling anti-aliasing but there's not much else really.

lol, yes, I consider myself lucky indeed 🍀 this was a donated piece of hardware with a busted Retina screen and keyboard/touchpad that is all messed up - it’s a miracle the thing still boots macOS Monterey (and runs Ubuntu great!) hooked to an external monitor, keyboard, mouse without any issues! I literally found a hack to physically disconnect the LCD screen from the motherboard to either prevent it from sleeping when the lid is closed or trick it to putting out 4k resolution over HDMI.

anyhoo, good news - i got it to work by choosing Open GL as its renderer (tried to disable anti-aliasing first and didn’t help) - it’s amazing to see the game working so smoothly with all the performance improvements that have been made! [there is minor glitch w the background animation starting in the Egypt stage, but nothing to fuss about as it starts eventually]

thanks everyone for nudging this along Smile
