I was looking at either the i5-10600-10600k or the i7-10700-10700k. I was most likely gonna get the 10700k because of the extra cores and threads, but was curious if the 10600k would be fine. Also are the unlocked models of either cpu really that much better because of the overclocking than the locked model? Money is no problem for me so I will go with the 10700k if I have to.

Since the rpcs3 is a ps3 emulator you should go for the best cpu that money can buy. You will benefit from it.

Go for the 10700K then. If you can afford it, it's a better future proof, and you'll obviously get better performance.

If money is not a problem for you, then best CPU on the market right now is Ryzen 5900X.

Why would anyone want to invest into an Intel platform at this point is quite a head-scratcher.

5800X may be better for RPCS3, but we don't have much data yet
