I attempted to create an account with my desired Username and a Hotmail email account. Then I learned there was an issue with using Hotmail accounts, Hotmail silently blocks your confirmation email (doesn't even get sent to Junk).

I'm now attempting to create the account with another Email Provider and the same Username but it seems the Username I desire is now stuck in limbo, reserved and waiting for a confirmation code that'll never arrive.

Well, I tried an Exetel email account and it's seemingly also not getting the confirmation email. Now both preferred account names are stuck in limbo (one account used an underscore and the other account used a hyphen).

Huh, it took 3 and a half hours to get the email. All is good.

Microsoft accounts can now receive emails, albeit in the spam folder.

How does one get a confirmation email re-sent to their address?

Not possible right now, but old Microsoft accounts were purged before support for these emails was added, so you can create again
