This happens in Gran Turismo 5, The Last of Us, and MGS4.

At a seemingly arbitrary point early during gameplay, the FPS locks to a multiple of 30 and freezes the image on screen. The emulator continues playing GT5/TLOU, but is accompanied by a full crash for MGS4. I recently upgraded my processor from one that had bad performance, but could play GT5 without this happening. Figured it might be worth posting this since I've seen videos and read that others aren't experiencing these types of crashes so consistently.

Ryzen 3700x
16gb RAM
GTX 1080 Ti
Win10

Edit: Using the precise PPU Interpreter reduces the frequency of freezing in GT5.

I have exactly the same problem. Sorry that I can't give you an advice.
I've tried many setting without success.
Gran Turismo 5 should be considert as not playable (on Ryzen (Zen2?)).
I haven't tried Gran Turismo 6 yet because the performance is to bad in my opinion.
It should also be on very high priority(!!) for the developers because it's one of the most wanted games
and many, many people are by Zen 2 CPUs those days.
All perfomance updates should be paused for Ryzen CPUs(Zen2) and the crashes have to be fixed obviously.

I'm considering to quit Patreon because the problem exist like since October 2019 or earlier nad it's frustrating to find no solution?
I'm very new to RPCS3 but it seems like that.

I almost have the same hardware:
- GTX 1080
- Ryzen 3700X
- 32GB Ram
- Win10 Pro

Hi have the same problem.
On RPCS3 0.10-10452 , when i play Gran Turismo 5 (BCUS98114), my game freeze randomly.
I tried different settings but the problem is still here.

My Specs :
CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 3600
GPU : Geforce RTX 2060

Is there anyone working on this problem?  Huh

I can also confirm the same problem of random crashes in GT5 it's been going on for months (also why I joined the form looking for answers), I'm consistently running the latest version of RPCS3 hoping they will have fixed it but so far no dice. I've seen video's on YouTube of people running the game so I am wondering what we are doing wrong.

I hope this is resolved soon, it would be nice to play GT5 on the computer.

You are not doing something wrong... I'm playing the game and it runs really well. I've got a PC that is really worse than yours, and it never goes below 45 fps, BUT it is almost impossible to enjoy it because of the freezes, if you do the first races (or the licence) it is ok, but, doing a 10 lap race and then it freezes after 7 laps it's frustrating. So just wait maybe some months and it will run well, just remember last year it was completely unplayable.  Smile
