I have looked and looked but I can't find this question already answered. If I just missed it please take pity it took me all day just to get this far.

I am seeing the error listed on github as #4625 .  I have successfully run DDU and new drivers (AMD).  I can now get a clean download of RPCS3 to launch successfully.

My question (or TL;DR)

What file/folders from my old RPCS3 do I need to move in order to restore my save data in the new clean version?

Thank You,

Just update RPCS3 by extracting all the files from the archive and replacing all files. It won't replace any of your shaders, configs, DLC, psn games, install data or save files.

It sounds like you have two folders for RPCS3, so just copy all the folders and files from the new folder into the old and replace all the files.

Let me try again. The old folder will no longer run even after copying the new files.

I need to copy old save data the new folder.

Thank You!!!

I would have thought so but I guess there's something in the GUI files that was not completely replaced. I'm sure Windows is responsible for breaking it because RPCS3 worked just fine before a build change and then it didn't after the update to Windows. The bad news is I'm in the accelerated beta ring for Windows 10 and most of the recent RCs are having problems with stability running games especially anything not rendered with DX12 Sad

Thankfully RPCS3 dropped DX12 support so you just need Vulkan working properly
