I wasn't going to make a post but to answer your question Solstar82, it works fine for me. Vulkan/Recompilers/thread scheduler + loop detection/ framerate + filter set to auto.
Log is included if you need to see any more exact details.
Largely default settings and I do not hang on character selection.
In fact, this game is very stable for me and the graphics are mostly good too. Some minor transparency issues with certain attacks.
The only reason it isn't playable is because the framerate is too low (about 20). As a fighting game it'd need 60 fps but when this game hits that it'll most likely be good for playable category. (Assuming no regressions, obviously!)

Edit Reason: Clarification of a point + a word
In this game, speed is tied to frame rate so it needs to be running at fullspeed to be considered playable. You can try the training stage, its easy to hit 60fps there, and see how much faster the game is supposed to run.
This game seems to be very quickly becoming more playable. It's not quite reached that bar, but 3 person matches, and even 4 person matches in certain stages can hit 50/60 fps. Though sadly in stages like Killzone, it still gets held back. Either way, I'm excited that it's becoming better to run!
For some reason, this game seems to be detecting double input for the X button in the menus. Whenever I press the X button, the menu selector will go one entry above and enter. I have checked my controller configuration and its working fine for other games.
