This might be a hard one.  In a real ps3, a digital game installed on the harddrive (pkg) would net some gains in faster loading times vs if you were to use a physical disc version.  So my question is, is the same tangible gain there for pkg versions in RPCS3 even though the disc is ripped onto the harddrive?  Or is there no difference in speed because the disc is being read off the harddrive instead of the optical drive, effectively making disc load times as fast as pkg's?  What I want to know is if I should always be considering pkg versions over disc based if a game comes in both options.

Read speed is the same, there's theoretically no difference in loading times.
Some disc games even fully install themselves to the HDD so they can have faster loading times on a PS3, but on RPCS3 it doesn't matter.
