Hello fellow gamers (who are hopefully much more tech savy than I)

I am trying to play my beloved Demon's souls (after my PS3 YOLOD). I would greatly appreciate your help! I get the following error in purple letters after using an ISO file. The game screen comes up as a blank white screen and nothing else happens.

"F {rsx::thread} class std::runtime_error thrown: Failed to initialize OpenGL renderer. ARB_direct_state_access or EXT_direct_state_access is required but not supported by your GPU"

Here are my computer specs if that is important.

https://www.cnet.com/products/toshiba-sa...hdd/specs/

THANKS!!!

It's as it says. Your GPU doesn't support it.
You need a new computer, or try your luck with Linux and some drivers that allow overriding extensions. That's an old Intel Integrated Graphics so I wouldn't bother much.

Old Desktop: AMD FX-8350,     Radeon R9 280X,    2x4G DDR3 1600MHz, Manjaro Linux

Is there no hope!? What about if I use the pkg files instead?

Or change some settings on the emulator?

No. Your only hope is to try overriding extensions using mesa drivers on Linux.

Thanks a lot for your help. I tried the pkg file from REDACTED

"E Could not load image from path C:/Users/Micah/Desktop/ps3 emulator/dev_hdd0/game/NPUB30910/PS3_GAME/ICON0.PNG"

any way around this one?

We don't support piracy. I removed the pirate website from your post.

PSN copies of Demon's Souls aren't supported, you need a disc copy.

I'm now locking this thread since the main question was answered.
May you need any help on ripping your copy of the game, open a new thread.

Forget any AMD A12, they're too weak

Requirements are on https://rpcs3.net/quickstart
