it runs pretty good ( just some hicks when u have to compile some stuff) but it still crashes at cut scenes

Game runs good at 16-20 FPS (set Preferred SPU Threads to 3 from 1, now I get 30 FPS during the first level and it can go down to 25 in heavy areas), but crashes whenever it feels like it.

I am aware of the cutscene issue still being a problem, I can deal with it or the desync option of using the library method so that cutscenes load, however, is the game known to be very buggy/crashy overall still? I've found that it is crashing or freezing randomly pretty often, especially in towns or in conversations.

Are there specific settings for this game that works the best? I don't mind 30 fps or 24-30 fps so long as it doesn't crash every 5-10 minutes.

I've tried playing on the latest version, which is "0.0.5-6592-a36acf49d Alpha". I just downloaded it from the website, if any of this makes any difference to the options I can try.

If vulkan crashes/freezes with you too frequently, try using opengl.

I have tried Vulkan and OpenGL, they seem to crash/freeze about the same with the same sort of error. I was wondering if this was a current problem with the builds that most people have issues with or if I was doing something wrong? I think I've tried just about every combination of settings and I get the same sort of freezing/crashing. Sad

Unfortunately, that's the state of the game for a while now.
Either save more often to not lose much progress or wait till this get fixed in the future.

As of RPCS3 v0.0.5-6646-8a51af0b5, the only thing that ever really happened to me was crashing during boss fights. Other than that, it ran pretty well and if I ever got a crash outside of boss fights, it was extremely rare. The cutscene issue has been fixed as of this build too. The only thing that remains, for me at least, is random crashes during boss fights but I was still able to beat the final bosses and complete the game.

Playable after PR 4401 got merged with last master

The game is much more stable now after the cutscene issue got fixed
there is still some freezes specially in text cutscenes or bosses but it's so minor & not like before.
The game also has a save system that allows you to save as you please (apart from dungeons)
so you want lose much progress if it hangs for you.
