Seems like the game is stuck trying to verify for DLC.
The DLC thread is the only one active when the game is stuck in the loading screen, and it made a 2 GB log in a minute.

fix - delete PARAM.SFO from dev_hdd0\game\BLUS31063
you need to do it only once after the first launch

@Kraavicka thanks for the timely update! I just installed RPCS3 today to play this game.

Deleting PARAM.SFO does get past the loading screen and seems to make the game playable. However, it does seem to cause issues with the Game List and remove any applied patches/updates.

Bit of a footnote that I need to mention for any newcomers who will attempt at the Deletion Method and is having trouble getting it to work: The PARAM.SFO file that is located in the Root Folder of the Disc ("disc/BLUS31063"; obviously assume BLES01754, for those with the European build) and also the Home Subsection (home/game/BLUS31063) need to both be deleted, and PGA Tour '14 must be booted by doing a Drag and Drop of the EBOOT.bin file from disc/BLUS31063 over an open window of the emulator; what I experience if only the one in home/game/BLUS31063 is deleted and/or if I am to use that folder's EBOOT file is an interesting Kaleidoscope of Red, White, and Black lines from the Logo and the "Loading...." texture that also shows the "Installing Trophies" screen hanging indefinitely (even if you press Circle to get out, the glitched textures and initial Loading Screen Hang will persist until closing out), which is what led me to figuring out that all instances of PARAM.SFO need to be deleted, regardless of where they are for this game.

This method presently does not work with PGA Tour '13, to current knowledge, at least in the case of its Digital version (NPUB30747); wishfully this discovery will help find a similar workaround for it and the Disc build, if not influence the development of a patch that won't force us to delete PARAM.SFO due to its issues with showing '14 in the Game List, it was overdue for either or to end up Ingame and it's only fueling the research further. OK I have BLUS31075 working now for Historic Masters Edition, will test it more tonight but looking pretty playable at this point. Here's what I did:

1. Install the game & 1.01 update - you will get the freeze intro
2. Move the PARAM.SFO from disc\PS3_GAME one directory up
3. Move these 3 files to recycle bin:

dev_hdd0\home\00000001\savedata\BLUS31063-USER0\PARAM.SFO
dev_hdd0\game\BLUS31063\PARAM.SFO
dev_hdd0\game\BLUS31075\PARAM.SFO

4. Boot the game via Boot SELF/ELF -> disc\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\EBOOT.BIN
5. Confirm works as expected and you get to main menu
6. Restore the PARAM.SFO from step 2. back into the disc\PS3_GAME directory
7. Relaunch rpcs3 and try to launch from the UI. It will say version 1.00 and is corrupted and can't be launched
8. Reinstall 1.01 patch
9. Launch the game as normal, it should now work and you can now set custom configs/increase resolution etc.

New problem it crashes right after a hole ends. Sounds like it's starting to play some music when it crashes. Same with Cubed or XAudio2 or even disabling the sound system completely. Looks like the error is this one:

{PPU[0x100002a] Thread (EAAudioCore Dac) [0x007b60f8]} VM: Access violation reading location 0x3f800000 (unmapped memory)

Follow~up: Akin to how I had demonstrated with PGA Tour '12 earlier this year, Full Rounds on any venue can be done in PGA Tour '14 when playing on Vulkan with the PPU Decoder set to Interpreter (Static), which will completely prevent witnessing the Unmapped Memory error when loading up the next hole or a Playoff/Tiebreaker scenario; this seems to be the only feasible method to play multiple holes consecutively and even potentially do the Career Mode without enduring a crash that this will be the way to go until more optimizations can be done when on Recompiler (LLVM); for performance on my end, Interpreter (Static) cuts the top framerate from about 077 FPS to not often more than 042 (the average on Interpreter is about 030+ with some dips into the Mid~Teens on a Ryzen 5950X/Radeon VII combo, dependent on Active Model Count, which is about the Stock level of performance that this and '13 had on native hardware; when playing on LLVM, you will find that Player Cutscenes will end prematurely, as they are moving too fast for the game engine to handle, an issue that is also apparent when skipping the same type of cutscenes in '12).
The below Data Logue and footage showcase from Build 13972 ("0.0.23-13972-577f379a Alpha (Master)") presents some of my findings; I am still deep in the infancy of playing this entry, so I know little on how Career Mode and some of the other modes outside of Practice Round and Player Creator will hold up in the Longterm, though knowing my history with '12, it is likely that '14 will endure virtually the same circumstances, wishfully with some improved level of stability.

Yes confirmed with PPU Decoder at static I could finish a 9 round event with zero crashing. In-game FPS is around 26-27 so basically real-time (gameplay is capped at 30fps anyway)

Has a couple of graphic issues with the custom players. Profile picture is all messed up like static and face skin is pure white/no texture.
