I seem to be having a particular issue with a hang when opening/closing the game menu using the Vulkan renderer. This might be related to some of the crashes other people are seeing randomly throughout the game - I have seen hangs during battles that seem to be related to this crash, ie. if I use the version before the change was committed, I don't see the battle crash either.

I've bisected the offending changeset to:

After this commit, the game will hang if I repeatedly enter and exit the menu. When setting preferred SPU threads to 1, I've had it crash at 30 repetitions, while it can crash on the first try with SPU threads at Auto.

Settings:
CPU: E5-2695v3 and 3770k
SPU loop detection = True and False - crashes on both
SPU threads = 1 and Auto - crashes quicker on Auto

GPU: Vulkan / AMD 7950 / Windows 7 and Vulkan / nVidia 1070 / Windows 10.

Invalidate cache every frame
Use GPU texture scaling
>Unchecked:
Everything else
>Tested:
Disable vertex cache (not in version 5479) - crashes on either option.

hmm... However the crash is an access violation on the main thread right? I think this is more a case of random unrelated changes increasing the likelihood of sync bugs elsewhere.

A stack trace would be good...

Either I'm interpreting the logs wrong, but I don't see a stack trace or a crash; it's a hang that seems to keep the CPU busy but the graphics card stops getting commands (livelock?). The logs are attached above in the .rar file, where I use alt+f4 to close rpcs3 when it stops responding.

kd-11 suggested running in strict compliance mode with debug output on, but I don't see a change in RPCS3.log output. Maybe I'm doing it wrong somewhere?

nb: I don't get hangs with OpenGL.

Sorry for a little off-topic, but is Atelier Escha & Logie is more stable or is it crashes much aswell?
If it is stable should I play it or should I better finish Ayesha first?

It runs much better since they moved to a new engine after Ayesha. As far as I can tell it's completely stable with fps limit (otherwise it goes to 3000 fps on 2D scenes and crashes, but that is not so strange). 

Has some graphical bugs but nothing serious.

I have a strange problem. When I run the game Atelier Ayesha, I can not see any graphics. I can hear a sound, I can hear an intro movie. I even can load a saved game and do something (I can hear my actions), but I can't see anything. Just a black screen.
This problem only reproduces with this game. I can normally play any other game. I have tried to change every possible option (thread looping, library loading, hooking functions, write color buffer, spu threads count, changing to OpenGL etc.), but there is no result.
The strangest thing is the game played well some time ago (about a month ago). I have tried to download an older RPSC3 build and... it did not help. The same problem (I have tried to create a new RPCS3 directory).
Is there anything that could be a cause of the problem? A video-driver? I got NVidia GTX1060 3GB, the newest driver (398.11). Windows 10 x64.
UPD. After closing the game window the log-file is empty. Is it be enough of console output (in trace level)?

Been playing this game for a while. Runs flawlessly for the most part. Similar to other Atelier games, FPS is mostly locked to 60FPS but dips to 40s in certain areas but you don't notice it due to the slow nature of gameplay. Battles are always locked to 60FPS. However, the game suffers from crashes. From a 5 hour gameplay, it randomly crashed only once at the start of the game and by simply rebooting the game, I was able to continue past the same point without issue. 

However, the game seems to always crash when I try to swap out a team member for Linca. I haven't tested other settings to see if anything fixes this crash. Will do that in the coming days. I was running default + SPU LLVM + Write Color Buffers. WCB is needed to correctly display background when interacting with shopkeepers (see Image 4 and 5 for comparison).

For now, I'd still call this game ingame, since I haven't gotten past that crash.

Here's the log in case anyone is interested.

UPDATE: I was able to successfully swap team members by first putting Winbell on standby and then adding Linca to the team. This seemed to work but it's more of a workaround rather than a fix. Either way, I still wouldn't call this game playable just yet as it likes to randomly crash once every 2 hours or so.
