Auto load doesn't work with .prx libraries. You're missing the .sprx form of them.

Install them from a PS3UPDAT.PUP firmware update file using the Install firmware option on Tools and try again.

BUt strage, its like you have no spurs libraries Loaded... Turn off autoload libraries option and use only basic ones from the forum sticky thread.

EDT auto loas libraries do not work always safely yet.

Turning off autoload libraries seems to still produce problems, so I tried the .sprx aproach (see below). It seems to be working a bit better.

Thanks!

I tried with the latest PS3 Firmware (4.81). The threads don't stop anymore and it seems to be doing something moderately interesting.
Here's the log file (gist) (it's quite big, but since I left it running for a few minutes the output is sometimes repeated).

At first it doesn't seem to be able to mount the disc so it stops for a while, then it resumes and starts the game's main thread. Then I get a black screen and the fps counter shows that the game is "running" at arround 10fps (give or take). Still no title screen, though.

Booting from ELF, SELF and using the "Boot Game" option all seem to produce the same output.

EDIT: setting the interpreter to precise doesn't make a difference either at this point.

quick question:

If MGS4 launches MGS1 during the The Shadow Moses dream sequence by loading up the PS3's internal PS1 emulator... how are we gonna emulate that bit? :|

Maybe it could be possible to run the PS1 emulator in the far away future, but it is obviously not a priority right now Tongue

But would it be possible to "dump" the PS1 emulator? How exactly does it work?

There are some unimplemented rsx commands

But if you make folder /dev_bdvd/PS3_GAME and copy there content of USRDIR/mgs
and edit config.yml with /dev_bdvd/: $(EmulatorDir)dev_bdvd/
then that can make some effects

and one word to you and devs, default language is japan. I have nothing agaist japan, but it occured one or two to crash. Please make default it to en (us)

The decrypted firmware for version 4.81 has ps1 and ps2 emulators (at least it has folders marked ps1emu and ps2emu). I'm guessing those are the "dumped" versions of the emulator.

The previous log was made booting the entire game from /dev_bdvd/PS3_GAME . Are you suggesting I put part of the game there and the rest in /dev/hd0/ ? I can check if that fixes anything, but it seems unlikely.

That is currently not possible. Best you'll get currently will be the black screen. That's why MGS4 is only listed as loadable. You won't get ingame with the current version of rpcs3.

You also didn't read the quickstart guide. Read it thoroughly, you must install firmware for example. https://rpcs3.net/quickstart
