Background:
I have twaeked many performance-relevant parameters but none seem to help, which makes sense since base performance capability is not the issue. I think the issue is somehow related to framepacing with the TV, specifically.
Any idea on what could possibly be causing an issue on the TV but not on the PC monitor?
- i5-12600K, RTX 4060 Ti
- Normally play on TV through HDMI
- Also have PC monitor connected, but inactive when gaming on TV
- Framelimit set to PS3 Native to prevent sound crackling
- Without frame limits, Soulcalibur runs ~200fps at 3xIR - presumably performance not an issue
- Testing Soulcalibur IV, video stutters when using TV, especially at the start of a stage as the camera pans around the arena and the characters enter
- When routing video to PC monitor instead the video is perfectly smooth
- Have tried multiple combinations of frame limit modes, with and without vsync, and PS3 Native is the best but still stutters
- Both displays are set to 60Hz refresh rate
- TV is 4K, while PC monitor is 1080p
- Both connected through HDMI (PC monitor through DP to HDMI adapter)
- Experimenting swapping displays so that TV is connected through DP to HDMI adapter, and video on TV downscaled to 1080p but still had the stutters, so that's not the issue
