Hello, I am currently using 0.0.30-15987 and I cannot update because when 15989 came out, it gives me an error message upon completion and attempting to reboot itself. I then noticed that it is installing OUTSIDE of the original install location and instead installing within the same folder in which the install folder is located. Screenshots are attached.

In Directory Before you can see that I have a few emulators are installed within folders named after the console being emulated. Obviously, the RPCS3 is installed within the "Sony - PlayStation 3" folder. That is the parent level folder, ie the rpcs3.exe is directly within that folder.

After the update, you can see in Directory After, that the update did not re-install within this folder, but instead installed within the same directory parent folder for RPCS3. It also did some weird stuff appending parent folder name to the folders and files. My guess is you have a variable to grab the parent folder name and a missing a back slash or something to make sure you went inside of that folder.

I also attached the error message, but it's pretty obvious it's from the weird directory stuff since it cannot find the file since it's named incorrectly.

Hello. I am currently on RPCS3 version 0.0.30-15979 (2024-01-20 20:15:07) and the latest update is 0.0.30-16001 (2024-01-24 16:22:38). However, after seemingly updating, when it automatically reopens, I instead get the error message "This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." When I try reopening RPCS3 it opens normally as if it hadn't updated and prompts me to update again. I can still use the emulator and play my games with seemingly no issue, but I'm unable to update. Is there any way to fix this issue without reinstalling the whole thing?

theres a missing "\" in between rpcs3 and rpcs3.exe

"Desktop\rpcs3rpcs3.exe"

if i add a "\" in the middle the shortcut starts working

"Desktop\rpcs3\rpcs3.exe"

im on version 0.0.30-15970 which i know isnt the latest but i cant update because of this issue i think

when i try to update a bunch of files show up on my desktop and the app doesnt update
(see attatchments, sorry if its duplicated i have no idea if i uploaded the screenshot or not)

The issue was already fixed, you have to update manually.

I've merged together all the threads with the same issue.
