I'm looking for this laptop:

CPU: Intel Core i7 (12 gen) 1260P (4.7 GHz) / 18 MB Cache
Memory: 32 GB DDR5 (2 x 16 GB)
DISK: 1 TB SSD - NVMe,Class 40
GPU: NVIDIA T550

Should I get good enought performance with RPCS3 and some demanding games?
Should I ask for a more powerful CPU? Or wait for 13th gen CPU?

I got a i7 11800h + rtx 3070 laptop that gets good performance on most games, but games like GoW 3/Ascension only get about 32fps min ~ mostly 45 to 55 to more fps ingame (fps unlocking patch on, frame limiter set to infinite, vsync turned on, but monitor rate 144hz).... And it even has AVX-512+ enabled. I think Intel killed AVX-512 in 12 gen.

The good part is that GoW 3/Ascension is CPU-limited, so i can crank the internal resolution up to 4k and play in my 1080p monitor, and it looks beautiful, just like a supersampled antialiasing, and the FPS difference is minimal.

You might want to find a CPU that can stand high GHz with high temps, cause shiz get pretty nasty when cpu starts hitting 95ºc, 100ºc: GHz starts dropping like mad, affecting FPS. You might want a very cooled laptop.

I play with turbo OFF and fan at MAX, to keep temps lower than 100ºc and avoid the GHz throttling.

About waiting for anything: AMD is coming strong with their Zen 4 CPUs with 1 clock AVX-512. You might want to wait for the mobile versions of those, they could run very high GHz and low temps because they're 5nm (or 4nm, something like that).

Thanks not sure now...maybe I will wait I7 13th gen...but thanks for feedback

I finally got the PC yesterday; I can safely says performance are really good.....12 Core / 16 thread really helps most of the games.

I see less crash, FPS is more stable and even demanding games are running like 45-55 fps......
...so far so good :-)

Problem I had in the past with Vulkan and Iris XE are now solved with a dedicated GPU......the problem was Intel driver I suppose...becouse with NVIDIA T550 I have zero problems....
...of course is an expensiove laptop but perform really well wi RPCS3 now :-)
