I no longer have a PS3 but am attempting to troubleshoot an issue with an old controller that I suspect is due to very old controller firmware.

Is it possible to utilize RPCS3 to update the on-controller firmware by plugging it in with the emulated PS3 running as if it were a native PS3, having the operating system recognize and update it as it would on actual hardware?
