Hello all.

I have a rather strange issue with RPCS3 in my computer. I simply cannot launch any game in RPCS3 past version rpcs3-v0.0.18-12862-63f16d7a.
Every version past this simply has different assortment of error messages in the log window, and this version (especially for some titles) seems to have some input lag issues (or maybe it is due to me using a DS3 over BT rather than wired).

My system is:
  • OS: Fedora Workstation 35 with kernel 5.16.9
  • nvidia graphics card (1080 non Ti), driver 510.47.03
  • Session: X11.
  • CPU: Ryzen 9 3900XT
  • RAM: 48 GiB.
  • System LLVM version is 13 with LLVM v9 installed for compatibility (all llvm 9 commands have a -9.0 suffix).

The current version (either flatpak or appimage) simply sit after compiling PPU cache, if set to SPU Decoder recompiler (ASMJIT) some times I get a black screen with anywhere between a couple of threads to four @100%, some times the PPU progress would show the number plus one, others a black screen (most often seen when set the Decoder to Recompiler LLVM).

A few games (Assassin's creed II, Dishonored, Nier, The Darkness) show this error about unmapped memory:
Code:
F {PPU[0x1000000] Thread (main_thread) [0x00e0096c]} VM: Access violation reading location 0x20 (unmapped memory) [type=u32]

Some others (Dishonored, Prince of Persia) exit with a Process finished message precedid by a series of error messages.

All games I have, I have dumped with PS3 Disc Dumper on my compatible ASUS BW-16D1HT.

The games I have attempted to run are:
  • Assassin's Creed II (Access unmapped memory in 0.0.18-12862-63f16d7a)
  • Dishonored (Access unmapped memory in 0.0.18-12862-63f16d7a)
  • Final Fantasy X/X2 HD Remaster (working in 0.0.18-12862-63f16d7a)
  • God of War Collection (working in 0.0.18-12862-63f16d7a)
  • God of War: Origins Collection (working in 0.0.18-12862-63f16d7a)
  • Heavy Rain (Acess unmapped memory in 0.0.18-12862-63f16d7a)
  • Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots (in game in 0.0.18-12862-63f16d7a)
  • Nier (working in 0.0.18-12862-63f16d7a)
  • Ninja Gaiden Sigma (working in 0.0.18-12862-63f16d7a)
  • Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (working in 0.0.18-12862-63f16d7a)
  • Prince of Persia (working in 0.0.18-12862-63f16d7a some times crashes on starting a new game)
  • The Darkness (game runs in 0.0.18-12862-63f16d7a)

I wouldn't know where to start to figure out why games do not run in the newer version of the application. For the record, I have tried deleting all configuration from previous versions (basically renaming the directory so that each rpcs3 run recreates the config structure) and re-add the games in each run to test.

Thanks in advance.

PS: Attached is the log as found in ~/.cache/rpcs3, after a test run of all working games from a clean slate in 0.0.18-12862-63f16d7a and after with 0.0.20-13319-86a04a86, which is the same version I have in flatpak

There is quite a few of these, would you be able to send one of the PARAM.SFOs?

Here are some of them that I found in ~/config/rpcs3/dev/hdd0, I see many of those on the actual games directory where I have games' disc dumps, but I am not sure if you meant those as well
