Can't boot this successfully anymore on the latest versions, not even with the pause and resume trick I talked about weeks ago:

Strange. I've tried a ton of different settings and versions and it gets past the trophy screen like 2% of the time. Very random and can't get replicate it with a certain string of settings either way. Thanks for your help

In my case, the only way to get pass of that is pausing the emulation when the "Checking savefiles" screen is disappearing, and then resuming it.
