Thank you so much! That worked, I was able to get past the heaven's mirror forest and now switching back to LLVM since Interpreter is slow. Hopefully I will not encounter any more crash.

The more i play the more the crashes start to happen in LLVM. so i just enabled TSX and use ppu Interpreter. getting mostly 30fps with occasional drops to 24's with 8700k. TSX works with PPU interpreter and gives a big speed boost

The bug that was causing the broken lighting effects seems to have been solved sometime since I last tested it (which was maybe a couple of months ago). Haven't finished it, but I've been playing for several hours with no crashes and no graphical problems that I've noticed. Vulkan provides a locked 30fps at all times on my 2700X/1080 Ti combo, but OpenGL performs significantly worse, dropping below 20fps as soon as you enter the first small village. The short freeze at 11:31 in the video was because my hard drive had spun down, rather than an emulation issue.

Build tested: RPCS3 0.0.5-7736-d4591b15 Alpha
LLVM PPU
ASMJIT SPU
Vulkan with all additional settings turned off
Full settings shown at start of video

Hi Aretak, would you be able to record getting through Heaven's Mirror Forest with these settings if possible? I seem to end up with a freeze at the end of every battle. I have an AMD Ryzen 5 2600, tried with both stock speeds and OC and could not seem to get LLVM Recompiler to work. PPU Interpreter does work however it ends up being very slow and an overall unremarkable experience. Thanks in advance if its possible!

remove Shaders cache and SPU cache

do you mean delete them? (i believe i already tried that) or do you mean  some option to actually disable them? i'll try removeing and rebuilding and see what happens

Still crashes, just now with this.

F {PPU[0x100000c] Thread () [0x003079d0]} MEM: Access violation reading location 0x784

another diffrent crash, first time it happened DURING battle tho. F {PPU[0x100000c] Thread () [0x003f42a0]} MEM: Access violation reading location 0x47

usually crashes are after battle, or when skipping a scene. hopefully we can get some fixes on this within a month of two.

Update 2 months later

got a reliable / recurring crash on vulkan. Sometimes i get a set of 3 pink pink access violation writing location 0xffdead00 error, and sometimes i get this instead

F {SPU[0x2000002] Thread (TCX_CellSpursKernel2) [0x12640]} class std::runtime_error thrown: Unknown STOP code: 0x22 (Out_MBox is empty)
(in file c:\projects\rpcs3\rpcs3\emu\cell\sputhread.cpp:2694)
F {SPU[0x2000004] Thread (TCX_CellSpursKernel4) [0x23e40]} class std::runtime_error thrown: Unknown STOP code: 0x26 (Out_MBox is empty)
(in file c:\projects\rpcs3\rpcs3\emu\cell\sputhread.cpp:2694)

Heres a save file to test https://www.mediafire.com/file/ud1273wb2...2.zip/file

From loading the save file, go up across the small bridge, then left into the house. then just exit the house. if it doesn't crash, just walk back in and walk out, or speak to the pair of kids NPC first.

Disc games can be placed anywhere, just drag and drop your disc dump's main folder into the emulator window
