Hi. I'm very new to RPCS3 and I was just wondering when the games say compiling shaders on the bottom left of the screen if it's normal for the game to stutter/flicker/lag/glitch for a second or two on the game's first play through. It seems if I restart the game and play through the same spot that it plays smooth because the shaders for that area were downloaded. I know emulation is not perfect, especially the more recent generations, so I'm just wondering if this is normal and not something I'm doing wrong.

It's normal, it compiles the shaders as they are sent by the game.

Also, compiling shaders is not downloading anything, it's decompiling + recompiling shader code locally.
