Ive been playing Gran Turismo 5 for a while having fun. that is until loading and compiling pipeline uses all of my ram which forces the application to close. i have 16gb of ram that windows steals 24% of so I have more like a usable 11gb. Also, my log file is to big to send even after compression. Don't know if it's related or not.

I'm just confused as to what my next step is. do I stop progressing/playing and move on. Or, do i need to find a way to reduce the pipeline? or am i going to have to buy more ram?

You mean the shaders? How many shaders do you have? The quick fix is to clear your shader cache. Unfortunately these games seem to generate shaders ad infinitum.
