What is the speed bottleneck?

I'm wondering what speeds up the speeds of games using the emulator. Is it purely CPU limited? If so, single core speed, threads, etc? What about a GPU? Does that impact anything? I'm trying to get an idea of how I can improve performance but I'm not clear what is the bottleneck.

Any ideas?

If you have a modern GPU with Vulkan support, the bottleneck is always CPU, even if you have 8700K or 9900K.

Gotcha. Any idea of what framerate increase you get for a faster processor? Is it based on single core performance? Threads? Any particular benchmark that best fits the bill?

Depends on game and CPUs, single core and more threads both help.
Ideal CPUs for RPCS3 are 8700K, 9700K, 9900K or the Ryzen 3000 Octa Cores.
