FIFA 08 [VLUS30038]

RPCS3 0.0.6-7935-f30af3cc Alpha

Intel i9 9900K
16 GB 3000MHz DDR4
NVIDIA RTX 2080 (Driver 419.35)

Using Vulkan + default settings

I POSTED THIS UNDER THE INCORRECT CATEGORY. AS MENTIONED BELOW A BLACK SCREEN DOES INDEED APPEAR. GAME SHOULD BE LOADABLE

Game will not boot. Running into "F {PPU[0x1000000] Thread (main_thread) [0x0087bec4]} MEM: Access violation reading location 0x0" error with both Vulkan and OpenGL with a black screen before anything from the game shows up. I included the Vulkan log as an attachment. Worth noting that the European counterpart (BLES00133) is listed as INGAME.

Moved to general discussion until you test the game with interpeters.

Hey did not know this. With PPU set to Fast, I can get into the intro every time. However after that the results are very strange. It always gets stuck on this screen     for a good 30 seconds with no indication that it will get past that, however it almost always does get past that intro screen only to get stuck at this screen      and crash with "F {PPU[0x1000005] Thread () [0x00b2c7e4]} MEM: Access violation reading location 0x200" about 90% of the time. There is also no audio during the famous "EA Sports, it's in the game" intro video. However I have been able to get in menu and in game about twice. The menu navigation is horrible as it runs at about 7 FPS and is almost unusable because of how unresponsive it is. But with patience it is possible to get to the pre-game shootaround, which runs at 40-45 FPS and has a bit of slowdown, but works as seen here

With enough patience you can get in game, and the audio runs perfectly at full speed, and the game renders at 40-60 FPS, but the game itself runs at 1/4 or 1/2 speed, making it unplayable despite any major graphical issues.

I will upload two logs: one with the game crashing on intro, the other with it getting in game. Right now I can't get it to go in game again, so I will only upload the one log of the game crashing, but I will update the post when I am able to get it to go in game again. I think this should be considered INTRO for now seeing as the odds of getting in game are so low.  See my edit below for compatibility details. I have added the second log as an attachment.

RPCS3 0.0.6-7947-12dc3c18 Alpha

Intel i9 9900K
16 GB 3000MHz DDR4
NVIDIA RTX 2080 (Driver 419.67)

Using Vulkan + Fast PPU

PLEASE NOTE ANY UPDATE PKGs MUST BE UNINSTALLED FOR THE GAME TO WORK. GAME ONLY WORKS ON 1.00

EDIT:

By removing the movie files in FIFA 08 BLUS30038\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\data\movies, I am able to get in game. The same pauses occur, but it eliminates the crashing that occurs. Maybe a mod can decide where to categorize this game? It gets in game when the movies are removed, though it takes a while, but otherwise it crashes on intro. Not sure where this game should be. I have added my second log as an attachment

Thanks for the heads up!

RPCS3-0.0.6-7972-df3b46a6 Alpha

Intel i9 9900K
16 GB 3000MHz DDR4
NVIDIA RTX 2080 (Driver 419.67)

Vulkan with default settings

Game should be PLAYABLE

With LLVM PPU setting the game is completely playable. I get well over 100 FPS. There are a few visual bugs regarding jerseys, but they do not impact the playability of the game. Sometimes jerseys will not render in pre-game warmup or during replays as seen here:     and here:     . Sometimes the pre-game warmup jersey is rendered correctly as seen here:

In game, however. performance is fantastic and jerseys look fine as seen here:

Also, game is now playable even with PKG update 1.10 installed! Going to retest all FIFA games to see if they work on newer updates as well! And no file manipulation is necessary (no need to move or rename the movie files)

Vulkan with default settings

Game should be moved to PLAYABLE

Loaded up and played just fine. No major graphical glitches that prevent the game from being playable. Only glitch I noticed is that jerseys will turn black in replay and broadcast cameras. This does not occur during actual gameplay though and therefore does not affect the game's compatibility. Well over 100 FPS as you can see in the video.
