Why does this game look so aliased whereas others, like SCIV don't?

because it is a simple ps2 era HD port and scaling does not work for this title with RPCS3.

Why would being a port of a PS/2 game affect RPCS3's ability to scale it like other titles?

settings check please?

game does not run at default settings.

requires frame rate limit to be set to 60fps or it will run at 200fps .
limit the frame rate to 60fps and it lags real bad.

cannot even get past intro sequence.
switching from vulkan to opengl does zilch in rectifying this issue.
audio is messed, laggy character select screen followed by 15fps in game...

not sure this is playable in this state..maybe it worked before?

Agree; game should be classified as "in game". It runs like a slideshow in Vulkan and gets stuck at the "compiling shaders" screen with OpenGL.

Processing power is not the issue in this case. I'm using an i3-8350K @ 4.9GHz and a GTX 1060 6GB. However, if you are using some settings specific to this game, that might help me.

gameplay runs full speed here using a 7700k with regular settings. but the sound is completely broken no matter what setting I use.  spu llvm doesnt help sound either..

I am attaching a log here, game works with both opengl and vulkan and sound is fine.
