Do I need to retain the .pkg files after installation?

After you install the .pkg file, will there be ANY reason to retain them? I'm worried there's some reason why I might need them but I also don't want to DOUBLE the storage for my PS3 games.

What do you guys do? Any reason to not just delete the .pkg file and get back the free space?

Yeah, if you install DLC/Patches and then want to fresh install the game again.

Personally when ripping packages from PS Store I rip the package file and keep the URL stored for if I ever need to download it again.

Thanks for the reply.

Once installing the DLC/TUs I don't think i would CHOOSE to go back, so that shouldn't be a reason to retain for me.

I'll just keep track of the URLs and delete the old pkgs to clear up some space.
