That background looks like 3D to me, pretty good frame rate in that case. And if the PS3 version is similar to the Wii one then maybe this isn't so far from at least the main menu.

ssshadow, not sure, but it also could be affected due to unimplemented stuff for video playback.

No, the game can freeze during character select screen and at the beginning of races. Otherwise perfect.
