So back in July, I was using RPCS3 to play Persona 5 after I learned that this game just got emulated. I was really frustrated by the fact I can't even play this game properly using my Intel Pentium G3240 3.10 GHz (yes I know it's very weak lol). I decided to drop this emulator up until now where I just recently downloaded and installed the latest version. All I can say is, WOW, from an unplayable state to a fully working game in just 3 months of developing. Previously, I was getting 5-7 fps in the town area but now i got 10-15. There was still some audio stuttering in the 3D cutscenes but now It's barely noticeable. Seeing this emulator develop so fast in such a short span of time really makes me wanna consider to become one of the patron. Good job on the RPCS3 team. I wish you good luck in reaching the $3,000 per month milestone (it's $2,924 now Smile)

I tried the emulator for the first time today but is it normal to have 6-7 FPS during the first stage with a GTX 970, i7-7700K @ 4.5 GHz and 16 GB 3000 MHz RAM?

Settings:
PPU Recompiler
SPU Recompiler
SPU Threads 1
Automatic Firmware
Vulkan Renderer
1280x720 resolution
XAudio 2

I first want to say the progress on this has been enormous and if I had the money I would gladly contribute to you guys.

I have had 1 problem playing this game and that is despite getting basically 30 fps on cutscenes the audio still stutters for some reason. Anyone know why?

at the moment - it's impossible to do anything with this

Try different versions of the emulator, with such characteristics of PC, this FPS is very low. Well, do not count on smooth cutscenes)

I'm about halfway through the game now playing it on the emulator. I seem to be having basically the same problems as everyone else. Choppy animated cutscenes are an issue for almost everyone it seems. I'm also having the game just stop at loading screens and never go to the next scene. I've learned to constantly save so it hasn't been too bad but it's still really annoying to lose progress every couple hours or so. Seems like a lot of people are having these two issues specifically so hopefully they get fixed. Other than that, the game runs fairly well for me with the framerate only being noticeably bad in some spots in town. One other little quirk is that I can clip through walls in the two arcades in the game. This isn't an issue I have anywhere else and am unsure why it is specific to those two rooms.

noticed someone a number of pages back complain of bsod and others suggesting its their hardware and not the emulator. well, i too am experiencing bsod playing this game. usually i would consider an unstable oc but system has been stable for months through 100s of hours of games and dozens of hours of stress testing. i can currently play other games on rpcs3 no problem, run occd stress test(which is much more taxing then an emulator) and have no issues, yet emulating persona 5 randomly causes bsod.

BSOD is per definition a fatal hardware or operating system error. Likely caused by buggy Vulkan drivers in this case.

Crashes how? No information is given.

Likely buggy Vulkan drivers though, try OpenGL.

Hey ssshadow, what do you think can be causing me to occasionally (say, once every half hour to an hour) freeze in loading screens (with the animated head on the bottom right corner)? I make it a habit of saving whenever I get the chance, so most of the time this only costs me like 5 to 10 minutes gameplay, but when it happens in a palace it can be very annoying, sometimes meaning almost an hour of lost progress.
Is there anything I can do/try, or do I just have to learn to live with it?
