I'm having the exact same issue with this game. Many other games worked perfectly before. but Tools of Destruction crashes in the same spot as you, as soon as the very first cutscene ends.
I messed with the settings, used the Canary patch available on the wiki, and also tried both NA and EU PSN versions. Same result every time.
I've attached the log as well. I found no records of this issue before your post, so it might be a recent change in the emulator that is causing this.
