In the latest version (8-29), I tested this game, found that it only worked in Vulkan mode and Strict Rendering Mode and Write Color Buffers were all checked. The game played in the upper-half of the screen just like what zeroyon04 had said.
In OpenGL mode, all the in-game 3D scenes and backgrounds of start are all black whatever the setting was. But it got 60 fps when one of Write Color Buffer and Use GPU Texture Scaling was checked.
