Read/Write buffers is not necessary to run most games anymore regardless of backend and actually slows things down when using OpenGL where it is halfplemented. I have used this game in the past to iron out graphical bugs and improve performance for opengl so it has been playable for a long time. However, ingame saves did not load properly upon emulator restart (I don't know if this has been fixed; someone ought to check)
