Thought I'd update this since things have changed quite a bit. I've attached a video below of some gameplay of the second mission recorded today using the Vulkan renderer. Everything else is left stock.

Played from the beginning of the game through to the midsection of the 2nd mission. The game runs pretty damn well now. Using Vulkan yielded very playable gameplay, whereas OpenGL had severe graphical issues that made the game virtually unplayable. The flashlight is still broken in both.

Vulkan still had a couple graphical errors in the first mission, and the water looks a tad odd in the video below, but other than that it's fine so far. The main issue is audio during cutscenes. In the cutscenes below there are no issues (I think because they're in-engine), but in the intro cutscene and the one between the 1st and 2nd mission, the audio cuts out a bunch and the frames drop a bit. I haven't tried adjusting audio settings at all yet, so that may improve things.

Other than those issues, it plays surprisingly well. Above 25fps most of the time as shown in the video, and no issues with crashing (yet). I'll update this post if I run into any issues or find fixes as I play through the game.

FINAL EDIT: Finished the game. Ran into no issues other than the ones already documented in the Wiki (the fixes for which worked). Dark parts of the game are pretty damn hard to navigate because of the broken flashlight, but other than that this game should be labeled as playable at this stage, 100%.

Tested the game myself last week, and I'd put this one as "In-game". Quite a bit of graphical issues. Tested the first level, and everything looked super bright. Needs some further cooking in the oven to get right.

It's weird as the first game runs almost perfect (most of the time) in the emulator now, and the 2 games are very similar in appearance on an actual PS3.

I think almost perfect is stretching how the first game play's on the emu. Have you played the game on a ps3?  because there are many bugs and texture issues on the emu.  The game even dips more in FPS compared to PS3.  RPCS3 really needs a new catogory after playable.

If you look up the Fall of Man thread, I posted videos of my entire play through. So you can see for yourself how it runs. Only had slowdown a couple of times.

I know how the game run's because I played it this week on my PC.  You can't say this game is almost perfect just because it had a few slowdowns. These slowdowns don't even happen on PS3.  Saying the game is playable is right, but nearly perfect no. The mess-up rifle texture is driving me crazy. Lol FYI, I watch a couple of your gameplay videos.

Well nearly perfect is subjective. To me it's that. In the other thread I outlined the bugs in it as present. If you to it's not that, then all the more to you.

Only a few of my favorite games on the PS3 run well. The rest are all in-game at best. To be able to play this game well, was immensely satisfying. Especially as my last play through of it was a decade ago.

i think most of the remaining bugs may come from https://github.com/RPCS3/rpcs3/issues/8154
sadly can't be fixed rightnow
