Probably old buggy graphics drivers. Update them manually with latest from Nvidia website.

As that CPU is quite fast you may also get fulls speed on OpenGL which should be very stable.

I'm having some trouble with this game both when using Vulkan and OpenGL using the latest build/recommended options.

Vulkan: Consistent BSOD (VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR) at the end of the cutscene after the first level.
I'm aware that you probably can't do much about that, since the problem is unlikely to be located in rpcs3, just thought I'd mention it anyway.

OpenGL: Runs generally fine (albeit somewhat slowly),  but results in the following error sooner or later:
Code:
·F 3:24:24.866575 {SPU[0x2000042] Thread (_libsailCellSpursKernel0)} MEM: Access violation reading location 0x0

My specs:

i5 3570k@4GHz
Nvidia GTX 1080
12GB RAM

Drivers are the most recent ones available (385.41).

I've been having constant crashes in this game for a few weeks now making it unplayable for me. I wish I knew exactly which build it started with. It seems like each time I play I can get a little farther before I crash so I'm thinking it maybe has something to do with the shaders since I have more after each crash and can get a little farther. It definitely seems like it has something to do with loading something. This seems to be the same with both gl and vulkan

Am I the only person having this problem? I even tried a fresh install of Windows with a fresh build of RPCS3 and the problem still persists. I'm really surprised I don't see any posts here or on reddit saying the same thing

Maybe graphics related, try OpenGL (perhaps too slow though)

Pragmatically speaking you could just use an old build: https://rpcs3.net/compatibility?b

I remembered it worked about three weeks ago, so I tried #3220 from 22 days ago and it works in that build. It freezes like it's loading something in the same spots that it would have crashed before, but now gets past the hangs instead of crashing. I wish I knew exactly what build it started with it or had more I could contribute.

Edit: I take that back. It crashed again shortly after. I'll keep looking for a build that works

Just saying, it's probably on your end with buggy graphics drivers or something.

I have the latest drivers from nvidia and everything is a fresh install so I don't see how it could be on my end unless nvidia screwed the pooch with the last update. I can't remember if the crashing started after the last driver release or not. What cards are kd-11 using for testing?

I'm running on Ubuntu 16.04.3 with a GTX 680 and 375.82 as the drivers. Catherine fails to load with the following error: E {PPU[0x1000008] Thread (CriThread) [0x01a79090]} 'sys_fs_open' failed with 0x80010006 : CELL_ENOENT, “/dev_bdvd/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/shaders.cpk” [1]. The program seems to think that the emulation is still running, but I don't see any video up on screen. Am I missing something obvious, or is there something else going on that I need to do?

Thanks!
