I recently just downloaded skate 3 for the emulator, And I'm having some issues with the game running fine but It seems like my CPU cannot keep up with the actual game as it seems to run in a slow-motion way. I looked at people who posted similar issues on this forum and they all had a CPU threadcount of 4, and that is too few threads for the game to work but I have a threadcount of 8 and still have this problem. Is there any suggested configurations for the game?

Things I have tried:

  1. Changing SPU decoder to ASMJT
  2. Disabled Lower SPU thread priority
  3. Disabled SPU Loop Detection
Screwing around with these settings have only made the game slightly more bearable, but the issue LARGELY still persists and It is annoying that other people with the same Computer specs as me can run the game smoothly.

Your CPU is too weak for Skate 3 and below RPCS3 recommended requirements as a whole.

Either way, upload a log file as indicated on the guidelines.

Hello. I have a similar problem, so figured I'd post here instead of creating a whole new thread.

Let's start off with specs:

Intel® Core™ i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz  2.59 GHz (up to 4.5GHz)
8G RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650

The problem: After a few short minutes, the game slows way down and is unplayable. Seems like the CPU is overloaded but doesn't display more than 80% usage or so which I'm led to believe is about normal since RPCS3 makes the CPU the workhorse and is not as intensive on the GPU.

Changes I made before the problem: (GPU tab) ticked "Stretch To Display Area", changed Resolution Scale to 150% (1920 x 1080), and ticked Start Games in Fullscreen. Nothing else!
BTW, I had played the game for many months without this problem occuring.

Since my problem started, I had tinkered with a few things to try and fix the problem, but to no avail and reverted back to previous settings. ("reverted" definitely an intended skate pun)

Things I tried: SPU Loop Detection=enabled, various combinations of SPU thread counts and schedulers, turning off Anti-Aliasing, and messing with ZCULL accuracy settings.

I had also tinkered with my GPU settings when RPCS3 runs, although I don't believe the problem is there. I don't believe I changed anything else, which would be the likely culprit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Set everything to default settings
Advanced > Max SPURS Threads to 4 or 3 (whichever works, lower is better)
CPU > Block Size Mega

Then upload a log file if you still have issues
