Long time user, first time poster.

Now for (roughly) the last two updates, rpcs3 breaks on me. until recently both the last two updates leave me with this error:

I tried looking around but i couldn't find anything; apparently i'm the only one with this error.

Don't put portable software inside "Program Files (x86)" (rpcs3 is not even 32-bits) nor "Program Files".

If the issue still happens when you put it elsewhere, check what build introduced this regression by trying older builds

I tried every version until it started to work again.
Version: 0.0.16-12213 (2021-05-03) is the winner!
Thank you for the help.

if you were referring to mine at all; mine isn't, it's on it's own drive.

And apparently the build entitled "rpcs3-v0.0.16-12213-35ee5501_win64" is the last version that works AT ALL on my computer

I have the exact same error message.
Here is the screenshot:

RPCS3 location: Drive E (For games and emulators)
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit
CPU: Intel i7 4790K
GPU: Msi GeForce GTX 760

Hopefully they will fix this soon.

Hello,

I got the same/similar error after updating RPCS3 too. It seems any build 0.0.16 throws the error at me. 0.0.15 builds work fine for me. My specs are:

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
8GB RAM
Intel i5-4690K 4-cores @ 3.50Ghx
Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 4GB

My graphics drivers are up to date. I also do a clean install with the update.
