The Lego Dimensions Portal works perfect!

Which version of RPCS3 does the portal work for? I have tried the lastest version and some random older ones and none seem to work with the portal connected with USB. I am convinced nothing is wrong with the portal itself as it works flawlessly with CEMU.

PLEASE help. This is a Christmas project with for son. The Lego Dimensions portal is not being detected. I don't know how to code, and I could really use someone's help. I've read posts on github (https://github.com/RPCS3/rpcs3/pull/7953, https://github.com/RPCS3/rpcs3/blob/36c8...s_usbd.cpp). I understand some modifications were made to add the portal to usb passthrough, and I've seen some people post that their portal now works. Honesty, this is above my understanding, and I just don't know what to do. Could someone PLEASE explain step-by-step what needs to be done? Thank you.

The LEGO Dimensions Portal should already work by default with no extra changes, if it doesn't then there's some other issue
Submit a support request in the Support section with a log file as indicated on the guidelines

It is doable, but I at least had to install a driver for it to work. Here is a step-by-step to make it work  Smile

1. connect lego portal to a USB port.
2. download Zadig 2.5 on https://zadig.akeo.ie
3. run the zadig-2.5.exe.
4. click Options -> list all devices.
5. find "Lego reader VX.X" in the dropdown.
6. click on the install driver-button and then exit the program.
7. you may need a computer restart, but not sure.
8. fire up RPCS3 and start the game. If the portal lights up it should work.

I may be wrong but it is important to always use the same USB port for the portal, otherwise it seems you have to redo the above steps.

EDIT: Also, I use a PS3 Lego Portal. It may not work if you are using one designed for another console.

Good work fillidill, you are correct. You need to restart the computer after installing the required driver. You are also right about using the same USB port that you installed the driver on. If you don't use the same USB the Lego Dimensions Portal will not be detected. I also use the PS3 version of the Lego Dimensions Portal. If you have any more problems just follow this guide on how to install the required driver for the Lego Dimensions Portal:

https://wiki.rpcs3.net/index.php?title=H...ccessories

Then once you have the WinUSB driver installed use version 0.0.11-10790 of RPCS3 to avoid crashes. It is the most stable version to play Lego Dimensions with.

Because there is a glitch with the network handler on RPCS3 that causes Lego Dimensions to crash at the Press Start screen if you don't use version 0.0.11-10790 of RPCS3. Here is the bug report that I made about the issue:
https://forums.rpcs3.net/thread-202309.html

It seems something was broken when they added Online Matchmaking Support to RPCS3:
https://github.com/RPCS3/rpcs3/pull/8663

Even if you use the solution I posted of turning off the simulated PSN Network and setting the network to disconnected. The game will hard freeze after 10 to 20 minutes of play. Something happened that broke the way Lego Dimensions is emulated in one of the latest updates. So if you want perfect compatibility and a bug free play through of Lego Dimensions use version 0.0.11-10790. Here is the download link to RPCS3 version 0.0.11-10790:
https://github.com/RPCS3/rpcs3-binaries-...8_win64.7z

If you have any problems feel free to ask. I wish your son has a Very Merry Christmas and has a lot of fun playing Lego Dimensions. Big Grin  Let me know if this works for you.

I know this post was from a while ago but I really want to get back to the game and I am using rpcs3 emulator and the game works fine until it says connect  toypad to the system. I have toy pad plugged in to my Macbook and I went into check the system information and the Mac can detect the toy pad ("LEGO READER V2.10"). The only problem I seem to be having is rpcs3 lego dimensions game is not detecting and I can't use Zadig because it is an exe file and Macbooks cannot run exe files. I also notice that when I plug the toy pad into my MacBook it flashes but doesn't turn on. Please help
