It has made the thread pausing effect last a bit longer but now the game just freezes instead of making the stutter come back.
I guess it's a diffferent problem then. For me, the stutter completely goes away. My problem is that this feature was removed from all newer builds.

Weird...
The performance is even worse even with all of the settings shown above.
Not really. There are many people reporting that the newer builds cause issues on lower end machines but it seems the focus for the project seems to get the best compatibility and performance on high end machines irrespective of what happens with more modest systems.

Regarding my earlier suggestion, you DID actually use the LLVM (Experimentasl) - in the sttings I mean - as that is what fixed the issue for me (again only on 8086 and prior)?
That is sad if ii is true, i was a supported until i see this message and have leave patreon, I just support since they were doing a good job even for low ends pcs. If they were some like citra guy, at least he try to get performance instead of fix some less bad issues bugs that would greatly downscale performance. Well i hope that maybe on future they change their mind on this when they have more accurate emulation on games, but i dont know how is that when a lot of games have even stop working nowdays on new builds Tongue.

Well, in a way I am sad about it but I also understand the logic behind it. If they just left the emulator as it was so that it would run on older/lesser machines probably many of the improvements would not be possible. I just wish there was a away to turn it off (whatever they did to it).

My only assumption is that my specs are too low considering my CPU does not support TSX...

I'm going to try it out on another computer and hopefully it'll work...

I'm always a bit disappointed when I read negative comments speculating about the developers intentions. The devs aren't prioritizing high end system performance over low end performance. They are prioritizing proper implementation over hacky solutions while also being mindful of performance. A hacky solution may be slightly faster but generally doesn't give the proper results and this causes problems down the line. They are very mindful of non-tsx people like us. I see non-tsx optimizations on the GitHub quite often and they've been very impactful. A year and a half ago I was at 18fps in Shibuya, nowadays I average 27. A staggering improvement.

I don't get much choppy sound but I'm running an i7-3770 which is a small bit faster than yours and has hyper-threading. I did notice when I set my audio buffer to 188 (as yours is) I got quite a bit more stuttering. After a few hours of testing and retesting different values the default 100ms seemed to be the best for me and I only get stutter when large changes in the scene occur (e.g. I do a 180 in Shibuya). My settings are practically default and I'm on the latest release.

It may be your CPU is just a tad bit too slow, the threads could be overwhelmed or maybe your CPU is thermal throttling. Definitely check for the third one, many people miss that when it happens. If your CPU isn't thermal throttling you can try to bisect where a regression may have occurred, try a faster CPU or wait for more improvements.

In the meantime I would appreciate it if you would try to be more respectful to the devs. They are working hard to make RPCS3 amazing. Even for people who don't have the latest and greatest machines.

I am very respectful to the devs and appreciate their work. I am only stating facts:

FACT 1: RPCS3 used to (and still does) work PERFECT until version 8086 on my system
FACT 2: Any version after 8089 (including 8089) up to the very latest version does not work AT ALL (at least not in a way that be considered useful - meaning no single game I own is playable).
FACT 3: I asked for help here, on YouTube, on Twitch and on Github. No one answered me (not even with "a sorry we can't help you")

Again, I appreciate the work done on the emulator. In no way I mean to attack anyone. Of course it saddens me that I can't use the latest release but sooner or later I will upgrade my PC (whenever I can afford it) and will enjoy the emulator again.

I am merely stating pure facts without adding any comment to them. You are interpreting them as "complaints", "ingratitude" etc. etc. but that is merely YOUR interpretation.

That's interesting, if that's the new setting for newer builds of the emulator then I believe the defunct "Persona 5" threads should be edited as well:

https://forums.rpcs3.net/thread-197277.html
https://forums.rpcs3.net/thread-197169.html
https://forums.rpcs3.net/thread-197165.html

As you can see, in those threads you said that Enable SPU Loop Detection should be turned on but in this thread you said that it should be turned off. I know the defunct thread is old but people still go to those threads because they want to see the best configuration for this game so they use the emulator to check the Game Compatibility and go to those defunct threads by mistake when is no longer updated.

But the audio always stutters, making the game quite annoying to play, I have tried thread pausing which froze the game after some amount of time, I have tried different configurations but none of them seems to work.
I'm on the latest build of RPCS3.
My computer has a GTX 1050Ti - Driver Version 436.2.0.0
a Intel Core i5-7400 @ 3.00Ghz
8GB of ram (forgot the speed)
and its running Windows 10.

I was having that same issue with this game even on my system, after fiddling with the emulator I was able to fix that annoying audio stutter. Here's the setting that I'm using:

The audio stutter may seem to be related to the Clocks scale.
My computer has:
GTX 1060 6GB
Intel Core i5 7500 / 3.4 GHz / 4 cores / 4 threads / 6 MB cache
32GB ram 2400mhz
The Persona 5 seems to run smoothly at a constant about 30fps with SPU Preferred Threads 1, no SPU Loop Detection. But the audio stutters sometimes, and it's really annoying
After setting Clocks scale to 101(or any number other than 100), everything becomes perfect now.
Is there a bug related to the Clocks scale?
