I have one Intel Xeon E1280 3,5 ghz, but it doesn't support TSX (which can increase fps significantly). My processor is dated from 2011, TSX came after. Can one more modern processor with TSX but with lower clock be better ? I've seen people running games with good fps with lower clocks on more recent processors.

TSX only works on recent gen CPUs, so yeah, any modern desktop CPU with TSX will be better than yours, even with TSX disabled

Every processor launched by Intel after June 2013 based on the Haswell microarchitecture supports it, 4xxx, 5xxx.

I have kabylake laptop and it doesnt support TSX. Do we talk about desktop CPU's only?
.................
oh wait according to this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_In...processors

some* mobile u chips have cut out tsx. Also not every desktop has tsx
* correction - oh seriously i have been fcked up. Kabylake u processors have tsx cutted out

Soooo.. that is worth to mention generally in faq or anywhere, that tsx is needed for higher fps if having this intruction gives really an income.

Any tests performed already? Wink
