I shut down the emu to grab a bite, came back started it up and now I cant go past 1-5 fps after the thieves guild question! I haven't done anything, or edited any file at all.

Been using the same config since July 31st and the same build. Now all of a sudden I cant play any more and my game struggles past the guild screen.

Help!

Try to check on your Task Manager and see if there's more than one RPCS3 Processes running.
It happened to me too, sometimes the Emulator doesn't completely close and instead continues to take resources from my PC and made my PC completely slow Angel

Is there a way around this? When I task manager it shows the same for me and that was when I immediately closed and re-opened it.

If you've only got one instance of RPCS3 running, check your CPU usage. It might be another program.

Well I only have one instance of RPCS3 running, I checked the task manager and my Hard Drive was at 100 per cent usage, I have moved the emulator and the game both to 4 different drives and the same goes for everyone, the emu runs fine, installs the game data fine, as soon as the guild screen is over, the hard drive, any hard drive spikes to 100, the cpu remains at 30 per cent.

This was not the case yesterday, what could have gone wrong?

Here is my log:

Do you have Write Color Buffers enabled maybe? Check your GPU tab. If so disable it, it causes a lot of hard drive load with this game (and it's not needed as far as I know).

I don't have any GPU option enabled, framelimit off, 720 resolution, Vulkan.
CPU, PPU LLVM, SPU ASMJIT, SPU Threads 1, Lower SPU priority, Enable SPU loop.
XAudio2 downmixed to stereo, XInput handler.

Yesterday I could play with 12-22 fps on the desert palace, with Chrome open to watch the cut scenes on youtube, and the persona 5 calculator.

Not one issue. Today I have uninstalled, installed, downloaded the firmware again, created the cache and the data folder again, tried nehalem, disabled the cpu options, moved to different hard drives, stopped spu threads, tried different versions, disabled my antivirus, ran the emulator alone, set realtime priority, high priority, moved my saves directory to start the game from scratch again, nothing has worked. The game craps out after the guild question, the main menu which used to run at 15 fps, now does not go past 5 fps.

No idea what could have changed in one hour yesterday. I don't have a rap file could that be it? should I have not deleted the cache? Is my game corrupted? I am at a loss here, any help?

I recently dumped this game from a friend, but it seems I did something wrong, the game runs at full speed most of the time, but all of the sudden the screen goes black as if a screen saver had activated, if I alt tab or Esc out of full screen it seems to work again and after a while in battle or world map no matter it goes black again (full screen), the game seems still running though, anyone seem anything similar? Checking the video card but everything seems fine..

Edit: Going to the config menu (triangle) seems to alter the brightness of the game, maybe I did something wrong somewhere.

Edit2: Is a known problem with the new video driver according to nvidia forums, I fired a few games and had similar issues with a black screen, reverted to older drivers and problem went away, sadly that means no Vulkan support and so can't play this game, I should never purchase a Nvidia video card again.

Edit3: 376.33 Drirvers from Nvidia fixed the black screen and gave me Vulkan support so all is good now.

Which drivers were you running? What GPU?
