I just got demon's souls and I've wanted to play on it for the longest time and now i can but the only thing holding me back is tat it says:
E LDR: Invalid or unsupported file format: E:/PS3 Emulator/dev_hdd0/game/Demon's Souls/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/EBOOT.BIN
S LDR: Boot from gamelist per doubleclick: done
that would be the log when i go to boot it up
please help
Read the Quickstart guide first, it answers one thing you're blatantly doing wrong.

Laptop: Ryzen 9 5900HX, Radeon RX 6700M, 2x8G DDR4 3200MHz, Manjaro Linux

so i did what it said to do but it still doesnt work also where do you put the iso
also need a .pkg file however i have a disk copy of the game
where would i get said .pkg file
Quickstart explains where do you need to place your game files. Read it with attention.
Generally you don't need a package if you got a disc copy of the game. You use whatever copy you have.
Demon's Souls PSN copies don't work, only disc.

I get the same when I try to run Cars 3.
E LDR: Invalid or unsupported file format: C:/Emulators/Rpcs3/dev_hdd0/disc/BLUS31608/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/EBOOT.BIN
S LDR: Boot from gamelist per doubleclick: done
I guess it's because the emulator doesn't work with this game yet. It's not listed in the compatibility page. Either that or I'm doing something wrong configuration wise.

so i put everything where it was suppoed to go but it still says
E LDR: Invalid or unsupported file format: E:/PS3 Emulator/dev_hdd0/disc/BLUS30443-[Demon_s Souls].dec/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/EBOOT.BIN
S LDR: (S)ELF: boot done.
or when i boot it from just the disk it says
E LDR: Invalid or unsupported file format: E:/PS3 Emulator/dev_hdd0/disc/Demon's Souls BLUS-30443/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/EBOOT.BIN
S LDR: (S)ELF: boot done.

also it makes it esier if you could just tell me what the problem is with it being invalid or unsupported file format
Did you follow the steps to decrypting the disc or did you just copy paste files from it? Copying raw stuff from disc won't work as it needs to be decrypted.
The unsupported error appears when your EBOOT is corrupted or encrypted.
You still haven't read Quickstart.
In Managing games and software:
Both Blu-ray and PlayStation Network games must be placed in a single folder with their respective files and the folder name must correspond to the game's ID.

I read through the quick start
I have the same message
---------------------------------
E LDR: Invalid or unsupported file format: C:/Users/Mitch/Desktop/gamereenos/DeS/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/EBOOT.BIN
S LDR: Boot Game: boot done.
---------------------------------
what i am gathering is I did something wrong in the iso decryption process
first I will ask
will renaming the iso have messed up the decryption process? (I was renaming for my own OCD organizational convenience)
second
Which file should do step 9 on?
FILE_NAME.dec.iso
or
FILE_NAME.iso
EDIT: I am also noticing a problem with trying to Game Boot the Game disc in the optical drive as well (Demon's Souls)
