I have the same problem under the 'MyCareer' Mode. After the initial Rookie showcase game - I can't proceed any further in MyCareer mode.
The problem is as you describe where as soon as the announcer starts to talk about the starting line-up the game freezes. There has been two different times, out of many, many, attempts of getting in-game (trying many different settings) that I did manage to make it into the first regular season game in MyCareer mode. Which ended up being flukes. But on those two different occasions, just like a quick game from the main menu, once in game everything is fine up until the game is over and you need to exit back to the MyCareer home screen. Both times upon exiting the game froze. So I have never actually been able to complete any game past the initial Rookie showcase game in MyCareer mode as you either cannot get past the starting lineup announcement or if I do I have never cleanly exited the game before it freezes.
I've been trying all day again with different versions trying to find the regression and I've ended back to what GrantKane reported was playable in 0.0.7-9226. Kinda wish I tried that first as I am still having the exact same issue all the way back to that version which was reported playable.
I suspect either all game modes were not tested before being considered playable (understandable of course), or that there is still an issue with perhaps Ryzen processors (pure speculation).
