Games run fine, but my CPU immediately goes up to 100 degrees as soon as I open a game - even at the lowest resolution, resolution scale, and resolution scale threshold. I also enabled vsync and and setting the frame limit to 30 and still got nothing.

I'm using an i5-11400 and a GTX 1060 6GB which runs Yuzu just fine and usually stays in the low 50s. Even modern games like God of War at 720p ultra don't heat it up to more than 75 degrees.

If any application makes your CPU overheat, that's an hardware issue. Time to improve your cooling.

I fixed it! (sorta)

Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Change Plan Settings > Change advanced power settings > Processor power management > Drop 'Maximum processor state' from 100% to 99%. Now the temp maxes out at 61 with no performance drop!
