The last of us (BCUS98174) freezing - Arilando - 02-06-2022
I have a fairly powerful system (specifically i9-12900KF + RTX 3080) and I'm getting playable performance in this game (30-60 fps range). But the game freezes/crashes (that is the visuals get stuck at a certain point. RPCS3 does not close down unless i tell it to). The settings i have are the recommended settings on rpcs3 wiki for this game. I have enabled any patch that's labelled a "fix" + disable MLAA patch + Enable GPU lightning patch + Unlock FPS patch. What i got from the log (from the point of the freeze onwards):

Is there anything i can do to alleviate this? It seems like there are people who manage to play this without crashing/freezing.
EDIT: After this freeze the game refuses to go beyond the epileptic warning and simply hangs at a black screen afterwards.

I recently ran the game again (managed to actually get into the game this time) and encountered a freeze again. Here is a 7zip file of the RPCS3 and TTY log:

Try increasing the Driver Wakeup Delay to 200us

That does seem to fix the freezes in game (I have not played the game for that long so I can't say for certain). However, i'm now again getting the issue that the game simply hangs forever as a black screen after the epileptic warning. This seems to happen after running the game a few times. I would like help in dealing with that issue if possible. Here's a log where that happened:

This error generally indicates corruption of kind, usually a corrupt save or bad game files, so I would try a fresh save and validating your game files

Well, i just got a freeze of a similar kind, although this time it took over an hour of gameplay to happen (as opposed to a few minutes before). Would it make sense to increase Driver Wakeup Delay to 400us?

Hey, I had the same issue on a different game. However I tried the same solution and bumped it up to 400us. That extended the time without freezing but it didn’t fix it completely. I have now bumped it up to 5000 and it has so far been working well and no crashing. Sometimes on lower end pc’s raising it will sacrifice performance however you have a good enough pc that you can probably raise it as high as you want.
