Move dev_hdd0/1 Directories - wanderer189 - 01-27-2020 Hi, is there a way to move the dev_hdd0 & 1 folders to a different hdd other than the one that RPCS3 is located? I have about 1TB of data in them and would like to be able to share it with another pc, rather than having 2 copies of the same data. Any help would be much appreciated. Will the following steps work correctly? 1. make a copy of the dev_flash, dev_hdd0, dev_hdd1 and dev_usb000 on a new hard drive. 2. Point RPCS3 to the new folders in the Virtual File System 3. Delete original dev_flash, dev_hdd0, dev_hdd1 and dev_usb000. All will work without having to re-install everything from packages again? I really want to make sure before I mess up over a TB of games...haha RE: Move dev_hdd0/1 Directories - Ani - 05-08-2020 Yes, you can only use one VFS directory, so you'll know if it works when you point it to the newer directory RE: Move dev_hdd0/1 Directories - wanderer189 - 05-10-2020 Thanks Ani, worked great! Yes, works for me using a mapped NAS drive even RE: Move dev_hdd0/1 Directories - k_rollo - 08-12-2024 For those who will land here from Google search years later like I did, I can confirm the above steps from wanderer189 still work. All games (HDD/Disc), updates, and DLCs were successfully moved outside the default location (i.e. emulator dir). The only minor change is the option is now at: Quote:Manage > Virtual File System Here is the process: The default folders in the emulator dir can be safely deleted after you have saved your changes. RPCS3 will no longer re-create them there after you have pointed to the new locations. This feature is handy when you want your emulator dir and game collection separate. Hope the next person finds this mini-guide useful. Also, thanks Ani! |
