I have a non Vulcan GPU how do I get RPCS3 to work - quinnd6 - 05-21-2019 I have a Radeon 6670. I know it's an old GPU but I mainly use consoles for newer games so haven't upgraded. Anyway I should be able to use Opengl with it. I downloaded the latest RPCS3 but it won't allow me to even start it as I don't have Vulcan and I don't have the vulcan-1.dll so it just won't work. I thought RPCS3 was supposed to support both OpenGL and Vulcan. I wouldn't have bothered downloading it at all if I thought a Vulkan GPU was a minimum requirement. How the heck do I get it to work if I don't have a Vulkan GPU? It says on your page that Opengl is supported but the emulator won't even bloody open for me. RE: I have a non Vulcan GPU how do I get RPCS3 to work - Ani - 05-22-2019 You're supposed to have vulkan-1.dll even if you don't have a GPU that supports Vulkan You can try to manually install Vulkan Run-Time: https://vulkan.lunarg.com/sdk/home#sdk/downloadConfirm/latest/windows/vulkan-runtime.exe RE: I have a non Vulcan GPU how do I get RPCS3 to work - quinnd6 - 05-22-2019 Thanks that's definitely the way to get it working. I downloaded that runtime yesterday and it opened up then. So I tried out Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 and when I got into the gameplay all the textures were blurred and frame rate was a bit jerky and music skipping I think a better GPU than mine is required to get anything remotely playable. It clearly wasn't rendering textures properly. Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 should not be a demanding game yet it looks blurry as heck and runs too jerky. I'll use it again if and when I get a better GPU and more ram Core i5 2500k 3.3ghz is an ok processor still I reckon. It's my 6670 and 4gb ram that are the issue here. |
